Training Larry
It may seem funny to think of Larry The Cable Guy having a personal trainer, but being the #1 comic in the country has it's drawbacks. As success comes your way, so does a busy schedule and "all you can eat" catering. Between touring the country, TV shows (Blue Collar TV), making movies (Health Inspector, Cars), and numerous talk show appearances, he doesn't always have a lot of time for exercising. I've trained Larry since 1999 and he always kept in shape until he started touring the country in 2004! I literally didn't see him for a whole year and he managed to gain a lot of weight during that time. Determined to get himself back into shape, he asked me to go on tour with him in January 2005. We traveled on tour buses from January through April and I made sure Larry ate the right kinds of foods and exercised as much as we could. We typically ran the arenas he appeared at or trained at the hotel fitness centers where we stayed. I also had some fitness equipment that we kept on the buses and used that quite often as well. Larry was able to lose 30lbs. in 3 months with consistent exercise and proper eating habits.
After the success on the road, I returned to training clients at Planet Fitness in Casselberry, FL. Unfortunately Larry returned to some old and bad habits. Filming a movie and a new marriage in the Summer of 2006 kept him busy enough to gain back quite a bit of the weight he had worked so hard to shed. So as 2006 approached, he once again came to me for help.
So off we went touring the country and working out whenever and wherever we could. He lost 20lbs. in 2 months and is well on his way to getting back in shape. Hopefully, as his success continues he will stick to the healthy habits we've established. It's been a great experience and a wonderful opportunity to work with such a great person. I want to thank both him and his wife for being such awesome friends.
